At CES 2025, NVIDIA unveiled its latest GeForce RTX 50 Series Desktop and Laptop GPUs, powered by the cutting-edge Blackwell architecture. These next-generation GPUs introduce AI-driven rendering techniques, including neural shaders, digital human technologies, and advanced geometry and lighting, pushing the boundaries of gaming and content creation.
“Blackwell, the engine of AI, has arrived for PC gamers, developers, and creatives,” said Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA. “By fusing AI-powered neural rendering with ray tracing, Blackwell represents the most significant advancement in computer graphics since programmable shading was introduced 25 years ago.”
GeForce RTX 5090: AI-Enhanced Performance
Leading the charge in the RTX 50 Series lineup is the GeForce RTX 5090, built on the Blackwell architecture. This powerhouse GPU features 92 billion transistors and delivers over 3,352 trillion operations per second (TOPS), redefining high-performance gaming.
DLSS 4: AI-Powered Frame Generation
NVIDIA’s latest Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS 4) introduces Multi-Frame Generation, boosting frame rates by up to three frames per rendered frame. NVIDIA claims that DLSS 4 can increase performance by up to 8x compared to traditional rendering techniques, offering superior anti-aliasing, higher details, and enhanced ray-traced visuals. At launch, over 75 games and applications will support DLSS 4 on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.
Neural Shaders: Real-Time Film-Quality Visuals
The RTX 50 Series GPUs also introduce AI-powered Neural Shaders, enhancing lighting, shadows, and reflections in real time. RTX Neural Shaders elevate material and lighting quality, while RTX Neural Faces enable highly realistic character rendering, complete with ray-traced hair and skin.
AI-Powered Autonomous Game Characters
Expanding AI’s role in gaming, NVIDIA has introduced NVIDIA ACE technology, allowing game characters to perceive, plan, and act autonomously. This innovation is set to debut in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS and InZOI, where ACE-powered characters will execute dynamic strategies and adapt to in-game events intelligently.
With the GeForce RTX 50 Series, NVIDIA is not just redefining gaming hardware but pioneering the future of AI-driven, ultra-realistic gameplay experiences.
